Danilo Andrade is a Brazilian pianist and composer with a unique musical language that fuses contemporary jazz, Brazilian music, and concert music. Danilo Andrade has taken his music to various countries in Europe and South America, performing in settings ranging from solo piano to duos, trios, and larger artistic ensembles. In Germany and Russia, he performed in a duo with guitarist José Eduardo Gil and also accompanied artistic groups, highlighting Brazilian music in dialogue with other musical languages. In Italy and Switzerland, he worked as a pianist and composer within the same artistic groups, exploring the fusion of jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and classical music. In Russia, he participated in performances that gave visibility to Brazilian music on an international stage.

In South America, his presence has been marked by a diversity of engagements: in Chile, he conducted piano masterclasses and trio performances, consolidating his work on improvisation and musical composition; in Argentina, he participated in projects with Swiss artistic groups, establishing connections between concert music and the traditions of the neighboring country.
These international experiences reinforce Danilo Andrade’s versatility as a pianist, composer, and educator, as well as his pursuit of a musical expression that unites aesthetic rigor and creative freedom in cross-cultural dialogue.

In 2023, he won 1st place at the 13th International Fidelio Award in Madrid, in the piano composition category, with his work “Xaxados e Perdidos”.. Site link

In 2023, he was a finalist at FAMPOP (Avaré Brazilian Popular Music Festival, São Paulo) with his composition “Flutuações”. (Video Link).

In 2020, he was a finalist in the same International Fidélio Piano Composition Competition in Madrid, earning second place in the Jazz category with the piece “Prelúdio 1”, competing against composers from over 30 countries.
In 2004, he won second place at the 21st National Piano Competition "Cidade de Araçatuba" and at the 23rd Latin American Competition "Rosa Mística" in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.
In 2005, he won first place at the 22nd "Paulo Giovanini" Competition in Araçatuba and, in the same year, received an honorable mention at the Carlos Gomes Young Composers Revelation Competition with his piece “5 Variations on Terezinha de Jesus” for piano.

PIANO CONCERT – PUC, SANTIAGO (JULY 26, 2024)
From 2006 to 2011, he was the pianist for the Big Band “Orquestra Véritas,” a project of the Universidade Sagrado Coração, which stood out in the musical and cultural scene of the interior of São Paulo throug numerous performances in different cities, in partnership with organizations such as TV TEM (Rede Globo) and SESC.
From 2001 to 2015, he participated in over 15 music festivals as an accompanying pianist and instructor in Choir, Arrangement, and Chamber Music courses, working with musicians such as Julio Medaglia, Lutero Rodrigues, Mara Campos, Gizele Cruz, Adelia Issa, Lenine Santos, among others.

From 2018 to 2025, he toured as a pianist with Euritmia in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Chile, and Argentina, performing works by Hermeto Pascoal, Abel Ferreira, Egberto Gismonti, Hércules Gomes, Villa-Lobos, and his own compositions in the shows “Fuga pro Nordeste”. PERFORMANCES...

In 2020, he was invited to perform the piece “Batuque” by Brazilian composer Miguel Ruiz at the closing ceremony of the 2nd FIMUB (Bauru International Music Festival). (Video link)

In September 2023, he participated in the Spring Meeting of the Projeto Cordão in Avaré, São Paulo, with his instrumental music group, the Danilo Andrade Trio.
In July and August 2024, he performed as a pianist for the Swiss Euritmia group, Eurythmeum CH, on the Latin American tour of the show “Si es luz” (Chile, Argentina, and Brazil), performing works by major classical composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Ginastera, and Villa- Lobos.
On July 15 and 16, 2024, he held two piano and Brazilian music masterclasses in Santiago and Talagante, Chile.

On July 26, he gave a piano concert titled “Xaxados e Perdidos”, featuring his own compositions, at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) of Santiago, Chile. (Video Link)
